We have some great news for flight instructors and aviation educators using Scenario-Based Training (SBT). Our Scenario Builder software has been accepted as FAA/Industry Training Standard (FITS) Supporting Material.
Scenario Builder is a tool that lets you easily create immersive simulation experiences for Microsoft® Flight Simulator X ®, Microsoft® ESP™, and Lockheed Martin® Prepar3D™. We designed Scenario Builder with the FAA/Industry Training Standards (FITS) in mind, and it’s ideally suited for creating simulation scenarios that focus on the FITS tenets: Scenario-Based Training, Single-Pilot Resource Management (SRM), and Learner-Centered Grading (LCG).
Scenario Builder was accepted by the FAA on its own technical merit (when used to create scenarios for an Accepted FITS Flight Syllabus or FITS Syllabus). If you’re currently involved in Scenario-Based Training using a FITS Syllabus and you want to add simulation to your training toolbox, doing so just got a whole lot easier. Scenario Builder works just like you think, so you don’t need to be a computer programmer to use it.
We’re excited that the FAA chose to accept Scenario Builder as FITS Supporting Material, and we can’t wait to see what people start doing with it. We really think this could start a training revolution. We’ve already gotten great feedback from folks at a few top aviation universities.
